EUROHEAD is actively seeking to collaborate with other European and non-European centres and physicians on the clinical and molecular genetics of migraine, familial hemiplegic migraine, and cluster headache. Physicians with patients and/or families possibly of interest for genetic research purposes can contact MDF or RRF at LUMC (M.D.Ferrari@lumc.nl or R.R.Frants@lumc.nl, respectively). All publications resulting from any such collaborations will be attributed co-authorship.

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee (Chair: Prof. Michel D. Ferrari) includes one representative per Consortium Member Group. It is responsible for final decisions on major scientific and non-scientific issues, for supervising the overall structure of the project, and for overall safety, quality control, and ethical aspects relating to.

Executive Board

The Executive Board consists of a Project Director (Prof. Michel D. Ferrari; Deputy: Prof. Rune R. Frants), a Research, Knowledge & Dissemination Manager (Dr. Arn M.J.M. van den Maagdenberg) and a Project & Utilisation Coordinator (Mr. P. van Grevenstein of LUMC/STI Management). The Executive Board is responsible for ertain tasks within the day-to-day project management.

International Advisory Board

The Consortium has an independent International Advisory Board covering all fields addressed by EUROHEAD. This International Advisory Board will advise the Steering Committee and the Executive Board on Ethical and Societal Issues and issues concerning privacy and data confidentiality.

Financial Management

The overall Financial management of the project is the responsibility of the Finance Department, Division 5 of the Coordinator (LUMC).

Title: Meta-analytic evaluation and dissemination of headache science

WP9 has two objectives:

  • a specific objective: to disseminate the results produced by the targeted research activities expressly devised for the project;
  • a more general objective: to gather, integrate and disseminate selected results of current research activities carried out by Consortium members, and/or researchers in the field.

These objectives will be achieved through the following activities:

  • Critical comparison of experimental (animal) models for the study of migraine pathophysiology
  • Validation of new entities within the recently updated IHS classification (2nd edition)
  • Evaluation and optimisation of current recommendations on neurophysiological tests for diagnostic purposes
  • E-dissemination: creation of the EUROHEAD website and electronic newsletter.
